How do I apply for an Ollo credit card?

To apply for an Ollo credit card, you must have received a pre-selected invitation by mail from Merrick Bank. You cannot submit a general application directly on their website without the unique codes provided in that mailer.

Steps to apply with an invitation

1. Locate your mail offer. You will need the specific reservation number and access code printed on the invitation from Merrick Bank.

2. Visit the official website. Go to ollocard.com or use the QR code from the mail offer.

3. Enter your codes. On the "Respond to Offer" page, input your reservation number and access code to begin the application.

4. Complete the online form. Fill out the application with the required personal and financial information.

5. Get a decision. Most applicants receive an immediate decision after submitting the online form.

6. Receive your card. If approved, your card will be mailed to you and should arrive within 7 to 10 business days.

How to get an invitation

Since Ollo credit cards are exclusively available by invitation, there is no way to apply directly or request an invitation. Merrick Bank sends pre-approved offers to consumers whose credit profiles meet their specific criteria.

  • No waiting list: There is no waiting list for an invitation.

  • Credit profile matters: While the process is a mystery, receiving an invitation means your credit report and related information meet the issuer's criteria.

  • Invitation is not a guarantee: An invitation makes your chances of approval high, but it is not a guarantee that you will be approved for a card.

  • Tell me more about how to get an invitation

You cannot request an invitation for an Ollo card, as Merrick Bank sends offers only to consumers who meet its pre-selected criteria. Your credit report is the primary factor that determines if you will receive an invitation.

    Factors that influence an invitation

To increase your chances of receiving an invitation, focus on demonstrating responsible credit habits over time. Issuers like Merrick Bank evaluate a range of factors to assess risk.

    Improve your credit report

  • Credit score: While no score guarantees an invitation, a fair-to-good credit score (typically 640 and above) significantly improves your chances.

  • Payment history: This is one of the most critical factors. Consistent, on-time payments show an issuer that you are a reliable borrower.

  • Credit utilization: Keep your credit utilization ratio low. This ratio measures how much credit you are using compared to your total available credit. Lenders prefer a ratio under 30%, and a lower ratio is even better.

  • Credit inquiries: Limit how often you apply for new credit, as each "hard inquiry" can slightly lower your score.

  • Manage your overall financial health

  • Debt-to-income ratio: Lenders review your overall debt and income to ensure you can comfortably take on new credit. A low debt-to-income ratio is ideal.

  • Income stability: A stable income and employment history can increase your attractiveness to lenders.

  • Keep your credit active: Having at least one line of credit, like a loan or existing credit card, demonstrates you have a credit history.

  • No guaranteed method

Despite these steps, there is no way to guarantee you will receive an invitation. Merrick Bank sends millions of pre-approved offers each month using its own targeted criteria, which are not publicly disclosed. The best approach is to practice consistent and responsible financial habits.

    Before You Accept Offer

It is always a good idea to compare offers from competing banks and other sources before accepting a specific offer. This targeted offer might be good, but it is not necessarily the absolute best option for your individual needs and financial situation.

There are the key factors to compare beyond just the sign-up bonus. Below are offers that might better suit your individual needs and financial situation:

    FICO Credit Scores

A credit score is a number generally between 300-850, based on a statistical analysis of a person's credit files. This score represents the credit worthiness of a person. A credit score is assigned to each individual, to rate how risky a borrower he or she is--the higher the score, the less risk the individual poses to creditors. In most cases, your credit score will determine whether you will be approved for a credit card.

    Credit Score Facts

    1. Credit Scores range from 300-850, the higher the better.
    2. Most lenders base approval on your credit score.
    3. Higher Scores mean lower payments and better deals.
    4. Higher Scores mean Lower interest rates.
    5. Scores are determined by 5 main categories:
      • Payment History
      • Amounts Owed
      • Length of Credit History
      • Type of Credit Used
      • New Credit

Note: Credit scores are used to represent the creditworthiness of a person and may be one indicator to the credit type you are eligible for. However, credit score alone does not guarantee or imply approval for any credit card product.
