Destiny Apply Pre-Approved Invitation Not Working? Here's What to Do

If your Destiny Apply pre-approved invitation isn't working when you try to use it online, there are a few things you can check before giving up on the offer.

A Destiny invitation is tied to a specific offer, so an incorrect application code or ZIP code can prevent the offer from being retrieved. There is also a possibility that the invitation is no longer active.

This page explains what to check when your Destiny pre-approved invitation isn't working and what you can do if the problem is with the offer itself rather than the application process.

Affiliate Disclosure: We are a professional review site that receives compensation from the companies whose products we review and recommend. If you click on a link, when an application is approved, or when an account is opened, we may earn a commission. We are independently owned, and the opinions expressed here are our own.

Check Your Destiny Invitation Code and ZIP Code

The first thing to check is the information you entered from your Destiny Apply invitation.

Look at the mail offer and make sure the application code was entered exactly as it appears. Also make sure the ZIP code matches the information associated with the invitation.

A simple entry mistake can keep the system from finding the offer. If you received more than one Destiny offer, make sure you're using the code from the specific invitation you're trying to use.

Make Sure You're Using the Destiny Apply Invitation Page

The pre-approved invitation process is different from simply going to the general Destiny website and applying for a card.

If you received a Destiny Apply invitation in the mail, use the invitation information provided with that offer rather than assuming the regular application page will recognize it.

If you're not sure why you received the invitation in the first place, I've explained that separately here:

➤ Why Did I Receive a Destiny Apply Invitation in the Mail?

If you're having trouble figuring out how to use the invitation or where to enter the information from your mail offer, see my guide explaining how to use your Destiny Apply offer.

What If Your Destiny Invitation Is No Longer Available?

If you've entered the application code and ZIP code correctly but the invitation still won't work, the problem may not be something you're doing wrong.

Pre-approved invitations can have an expiration date or can become unavailable in the issuer's system. If the offer itself is no longer active, changing browsers or entering the code again won't bring the offer back.

Try Another Browser or Device

If you believe the invitation is still valid, you can also rule out a browser or device problem.

  • Try opening the Destiny Apply page in another browser.
  • Try using a different device, such as a smartphone or computer.
  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
  • Temporarily disable browser extensions that could interfere with the page.

If the invitation works on another device, the problem may have been related to your browser rather than the Destiny offer itself.

What If the Destiny Invitation Still Won't Work?

If you've checked the application code and ZIP code and your Destiny invitation still won't work, you have another option. You can contact Destiny customer service to ask whether there is a problem with the invitation or whether the offer is still active.

You can also try the Destiny pre-qualification option instead. This gives you another way to see if you may qualify for the Destiny Mastercard without having to use the invitation code from your mail offer.

The pre-qualification process uses a soft credit inquiry, so checking to see if you pre-qualify does not affect your credit score. If you decide to continue with an offer and submit a full application, the terms of that application will determine whether a hard inquiry is made.

➤ See If You Pre-Qualify for the Destiny Mastercard

What If I Can't Use My Pre-Approved Destiny Offer?

If the invitation cannot be used, you don't necessarily have to stop looking for a credit card.

You can look at other credit card offers based on your current credit profile and see what may be available. This can be particularly useful if the Destiny invitation has expired or is no longer being offered through the invitation system.

If you were specifically looking for a card because of your credit history, consider looking at available offers before submitting another application so you can find an option that fits what you're looking for.

Final Thoughts

If your Destiny Apply pre-approved invitation isn't working, first check the application code and ZIP code you entered and make sure you're using the correct invitation. If everything is correct, try accessing the offer from another browser or device.

If the invitation still won't work, you can contact Destiny to find out whether the offer is still active. You can also use the Destiny pre-qualification option as an alternative to using the invitation code.

And if you were able to submit the application but were not approved, see Destiny Apply Pre-Approved Invitation Not Approved for information about what you can do next.

FICO® Credit Scores

A FICO® Score is a proprietary credit score created by the Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO). About 90% of top U.S. lenders use it to make lending decisions.

FICO® Score Ranges:

  • Exceptional: 800–850
  • Very Good: 740–799
  • Good: 670–739
  • Fair: 580–669
  • Poor: 300–579

FICO categorizes scores as Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good, and Exceptional.

What is a Credit Score?

A credit score is a three-digit number (300–850) predicting your creditworthiness. Lenders use it to evaluate risk and determine rates and terms for credit.

Why it matters: A higher score can help you qualify for loans and lower interest rates. A lower score can lead to higher borrowing costs or application denials.

FICO® Credit Score Facts

Key Characteristics:
  • Three-Digit Number: Summarizes your credit risk.
  • Range: 300–850; higher scores = lower risk.
  • Data Source: Uses your credit reports from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.
  • Industry Standard: Lenders rely on FICO for mortgages, auto loans, and credit cards.

Note: Credit scores reflect your creditworthiness but do not guarantee approval for any credit product.
