The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi gives you 5% cash back on gas purchased at Costco and 4% cash back on other eligible gas and electric vehicle (EV) charging purchases. The 5% and 4% rewards are subject to a combined $7,000 annual spending limit, after which the cash back rate drops to 1%.
That means if you use the Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi to buy gas at Costco, you earn the highest gas reward rate offered by the card: 5% cash back.
The 5% rate applies to eligible gas purchases at Costco. Purchases at other eligible gas stations and eligible EV charging locations earn 4% cash back instead. Both reward rates count toward the same $7,000 combined annual limit. Once that limit is reached, eligible gas and EV charging purchases earn 1% cash back for the rest of the year.
If you're wondering why a purchase at another gas station did not receive 4% cash back, see Why Don't I Get 4% Cash Back at All Gas Stations With My Costco Visa?

A FICO® Score is a proprietary credit score created by the Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO). About 90% of top U.S. lenders use it to make lending decisions.
FICO® Score Ranges:
FICO categorizes scores as Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good, and Exceptional.
A credit score is a three-digit number (300–850) predicting your creditworthiness. Lenders use it to evaluate risk and determine rates and terms for credit.
Why it matters: A higher score can help you qualify for loans and lower interest rates. A lower score can lead to higher borrowing costs or application denials.
Note: Credit scores reflect your creditworthiness but do not guarantee approval for any credit product.
