Reflex Platinum Mastercard Credit Limit and Fees

The Reflex® Platinum Mastercard® offers starting credit limits of $300, $500, $750, or $1,000, but the credit limit you receive also matters when it comes to some of the card's fees. The monthly maintenance fee, cash advance fee, and foreign transaction fee can depend directly on your credit limit, while the annual fee can range from $75 to $125 depending on the offer you receive. Some fees are also assessed when the account is opened and can reduce the amount of credit you initially have available.

What Credit Limits Does the Reflex Mastercard Offer?

The Reflex Platinum Mastercard has four potential starting credit-limit levels: $300, $500, $750, and $1,000. Your particular starting credit limit is determined when your application is evaluated, and not every applicant receives the same amount.

The credit limit is the maximum balance you can generally have on the account at one time. However, your initial available credit can be lower than your assigned credit limit because certain fees may be charged to the account when it is opened.

This distinction is important with the Reflex Mastercard because some of the account-opening and maintenance charges can be assessed before you begin using the card.

How Does Your Credit Limit Affect Reflex Mastercard Fees?

One of the things that makes the Reflex Mastercard fee structure different from a simple flat-fee credit card is that some fees change depending on whether your starting credit limit is $300, $500, $750 or $1,000.

The current account-opening disclosure specifically separates the credit-limit tiers when describing the monthly maintenance fee, cash advance fee, and foreign transaction fee. This means your starting credit limit can affect the cost of maintaining and using the account.

The annual fee is separate from those tier-specific charges. Current offers list an annual fee ranging from $75 to $125, so you should review the specific terms presented with your offer to determine the annual fee that applies to your account.

Reflex Mastercard Annual Fee

The annual fee on the Reflex Platinum Mastercard can depend on the credit limit you receive. Accounts with a $300 credit limit get a $75 introductory fee for the first year, thereafter $99 annually, while accounts with a $500, $750 or $1,000 credit limit have a $125 annual fee.

That means the starting credit limit you are offered can affect more than just how much credit you have available. It can also determine which annual-fee tier applies to your account.

The annual fee is one of the charges you should review when you receive your specific Reflex Mastercard offer. Your offer will show the credit limit you have been approved for and the corresponding account terms and fees that apply to you.

It is also important to remember that the annual fee is separate from the monthly maintenance fee. The monthly maintenance fee has its own credit-limit-based structure, which means the total cost of the account can vary depending on whether you receive a $300, $500, $750, or $1,000 starting credit limit.

Reflex Mastercard Monthly Maintenance Fee

The monthly maintenance fee is one of the clearest examples of a Reflex fee that is directly connected to the credit-limit tier.

For accounts with a $300 or $500 credit limit, there is a $0 introductory monthly maintenance fee during the first year. After the first year, the fee is $12.50 per month, which equals $150 per year if charged for all 12 months.

For accounts with a $750 or $1,000 credit limit, the current disclosure provides a different fee structure: the monthly maintenance fee is $0 during the first year, followed by $10 per month, or $120 per year.

In other words, the credit limit you receive can affect what you pay in monthly maintenance fees after the introductory period.

Can Reflex Fees Reduce Your Initial Available Credit?

Yes. This is an important distinction between your credit limit and your initial available credit.

The Reflex account-opening disclosure states that some setup and maintenance fees can be assessed before you begin using the card and will reduce the amount of credit initially available to you.

For example, if you receive the minimum $300 credit limit, the disclosure gives an example in which your initial available credit is $255. The difference results from fees charged against the account before you begin using the card.

If you choose to add an additional card, the disclosure gives a separate example in which a $300 credit limit can result in only $195 of initial available credit.

This is why someone approved for a $300 credit limit should not automatically assume that $300 will be available for purchases immediately after the account is opened.

Can the Reflex Mastercard Credit Limit Increase?

The Reflex Platinum Mastercard also has a potential credit-limit increase feature. After making the first six monthly minimum payments, you may be eligible to have your original credit limit doubled, subject to the applicable account terms.

For example, a starting credit limit of:

  • $300 could potentially increase to $600
  • $500 could potentially increase to $1,000
  • $750 could potentially increase to $1,500
  • $1,000 could potentially increase to $2,000

The potential increase is based on doubling the original credit limit. It should not be confused with receiving a higher starting credit limit when you first open the account.

Reflex Mastercard Cash Advance Fee

The cash advance fee also depends on the credit-limit tier.

For a Reflex Mastercard with a $300 or $500 credit limit, the cash advance fee is $0 during the first year. After that introductory period, the fee is either $10 or 3% of the amount of the cash advance, whichever is greater.

For accounts with a $750 or $1,000 credit limit, the cash advance fee is either $10 or 3% of the amount of the cash advance, whichever is greater, beginning when the account is opened.

This is another example of why the credit limit matters when looking at the overall cost of the Reflex Mastercard.

Reflex Mastercard Foreign Transaction Fee

The foreign transaction fee is also tied to the credit-limit tier under the current disclosure.

For accounts with a $300 or $500 credit limit, the foreign transaction fee is $0 during the first year. After the introductory period, the fee is 3% of each transaction in U.S. dollars.

For accounts with a $750 or $1,000 credit limit, the foreign transaction fee is 3% of each transaction in U.S. dollars from the date the account is opened.

Reflex Mastercard Additional Card Fee

The Reflex Mastercard has a $30 one-time additional card fee, if applicable.

This fee is separate from your regular annual fee and monthly maintenance fee. If you are considering adding another cardholder, the additional $30 charge should be considered when determining how much of your starting credit limit will actually be available.

Reflex Mastercard Late and Returned Payment Fees

The current account-opening disclosure lists both the late payment fee and returned payment fee at up to $41.

These fees are not listed as varying according to whether your starting credit limit is $300, $500, $750, or $1,000. They are separate penalty fees that can apply if the applicable conditions occur.

Is There an Overlimit Fee?

The current Reflex disclosure also lists an overlimit fee of up to $41, if applicable.

Because your available credit can be lower than your assigned credit limit after fees are charged to the account, it is important to pay attention to your actual available credit rather than looking only at the original credit-limit amount.

Reflex Mastercard Interest Rate

The current Reflex Platinum Mastercard disclosure lists a 35.90% fixed APR for purchases and cash advances.

Interest is separate from the card's annual, monthly maintenance, transaction, and penalty fees. The disclosure states that the payment due date is at least 25 days after the close of each billing cycle and that interest is not charged on purchases when the entire account balance is paid by the payment due date. Cash advances begin accruing interest on the transaction date.

Why Your Reflex Credit Limit Matters When Looking at the Fees

The Reflex Platinum Mastercard is not a card where the starting credit limit and fees can always be considered separately. The credit-limit tier can directly determine which fee structure applies to your account.

For example, a $300 or $500 credit limit has one monthly maintenance structure, cash advance structure, and foreign transaction structure, while a $750 or $1,000 credit limit has a different structure for those fees.

Your credit limit can also affect how much credit you actually have available when the account is opened because certain fees can be charged against the account before you begin making purchases.

For that reason, when you receive a Reflex Mastercard offer, it is important to look at both the credit limit and the complete fee disclosure. The starting credit limit tells you how much credit the account provides, but the fee disclosure tells you how much of that credit may initially be available and what charges can apply based on your particular credit-limit tier.

Reflex Platinum Mastercard Credit Limit and Fees

If you are considering the Reflex® Platinum Mastercard®, it is important to look at the credit limit and fees together. Your starting credit limit can affect several of the fees associated with the account, and fees charged when the account is opened can also affect how much of that credit is initially available to you. Reviewing the specific terms of your offer before completing the application can help you understand exactly what credit limit and fee structure applies to your account.

FICO® Credit Scores

A FICO® Score is a proprietary credit score created by the Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO). About 90% of top U.S. lenders use it to make lending decisions.

FICO® Score Ranges:

  • Exceptional: 800–850
  • Very Good: 740–799
  • Good: 670–739
  • Fair: 580–669
  • Poor: 300–579

FICO categorizes scores as Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good, and Exceptional.

What is a Credit Score?

A credit score is a three-digit number (300–850) predicting your creditworthiness. Lenders use it to evaluate risk and determine rates and terms for credit.

Why it matters: A higher score can help you qualify for loans and lower interest rates. A lower score can lead to higher borrowing costs or application denials.

FICO® Credit Score Facts

Key Characteristics:
  • Three-Digit Number: Summarizes your credit risk.
  • Range: 300–850; higher scores = lower risk.
  • Data Source: Uses your credit reports from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.
  • Industry Standard: Lenders rely on FICO for mortgages, auto loans, and credit cards.

Note: Credit scores reflect your creditworthiness but do not guarantee approval for any credit product.
